We have a small fleet of 13 bikes we hire to our clients directly from the Service Course. We have 8 2019 Trek Emonda SL6s equipped with mechanical Shimano Ultegra groupset and 5 2019 Trek Emonda SL5s on Shimano 105. They are in a range of sizes from 50 through to 60 cms and they are all equipped with compact (50/34) chainsets and 12/28 cassettes.
We think they look pretty slick.
A lot of thought went in to specifying these bikes – we picked Trek because they are a brand well know to us and they produce consistently brilliant bikes ridden by millions all over the world. The bikes are used in the pro peloton and benefit from a huge R&D budget.
Our choice of bike and specification also benefits from our experience of hire bikes, both using them ourselves, and feedback from others. We chose high grade complete mechanical groupsets because of their reliability. Electronic shifting is great when it works, when it doesn’t, you’re stuck. Similarly, we know low profile wheels with aluminium braking surfaces are more controllable in the wind and will stop when you want them too even if things get a little wet.
We decided to keep numbers small. This way, our in-house mechanic can look after each one of them. We own these bikes and we look after them like we own them too, so no ‘auto unroll’ bar tape, dirty cassettes or bone-dry chains.
Our Treks are available to hire now at €40 per day for an SL6 and €35 per day for an SL5.

These Terms and Conditions form part of the Agreement made between OQ Service Course and the Customer.
It is hereby agreed as follows:
Credit card: Payment for the full period of bike hire is due at the time of booking. A credit card deposit of €250 per bike is required for all bike hire to be held on retention, and returned in full on the safe, undamaged return of the hired bike.
Other payments: For customers in store without advance booking, may hire a bike/bikes with a credit or debit card payment or, under exceptional circumstances, cash subject to appropriate identification and security.
Cancellation of a bike reservation:
Cancellations made up until 30 days before the first rental day: A full refund will be given.
Cancellations made between 29 days up until 15 days before the first rental day: a refund of 50% of the amount paid will be given.
Cancellations made between 14 days up until 7 days before the first rental day: a refund of 20% of the amount paid will be given.
Cancellations within 7 days before the first rental day: The full amount of the rental is payable and no refunds will be given.
COLLECTION AND RETURN OF BIKES
All bikes are to be collected and returned to OQ Service Course at Carrer de Temple Fielding, 3 local 1, 07470 Pollença, Illes Balears, Spain. Bikes are available for collection from 4.30pm to 7.30pm on the evening before the hire period starts or from 9.00am to 12.30 on the day of the start of the hire period. Bikes must be returned between 4.30pm to 8.00pm on the last day of the hire period.
Times outside those set out about or arrangements for collection and/or delivery of bikes must be agreed between the customer and OQ Service Course prior to the start of the hire period.
By accepting the bike(s) the customer accepts they receive the bike in a good technical, safe and clean condition. The bicycles must be returned in the same condition in which they left the Service Course. The bike must not be used for off-road or be taken on to beaches.
IDENTIFICATION AND SIGNATURE
Bikes will only be handed over to the person named on the rental contract upon production of suitable identification and the completion/signature of a bike hire agreement form.
USE AND DAMAGE OF RENTED EQUIPMENT
Bikes and equipment hired on a rental agreement remain the property of OQ Service Course. The customer is obliged to take good care of the bike and equipment hired and to take all precautions necessary to protect them from damage, loss or theft. The bikes are to be used for their intended purpose of road cycling over normal metaled or surfaced roads and not for use on gravel, sand or unmade surfaces.
The customer is responsible for informing OQ Service Course of any damage or loss sustained to or from the bike during the period of hire. On return of the bike at the end of the rental period a representative of OQ Service Course will examine the bike and equipment and, if satisfied that there are no losses or damage, will confirm the cancellation of the credit card deposit.
If for any reason a full inspection is not possible at the time of return the deposit will be retained until such examination can be carried out.
Should any damage be sustained to the bike, componentry or equipment during the hire period, the customer is responsible for the full replacement cost at current market price of the whole or part of the bicycle so damaged. In selecting to confirm the reservation and signing the agreement the customer is accepting that any damage found to the bike after return will be charged to the credit card. In such circumstances, the customer will be informed of details of the damage and amount charged. The customer will be entitled to take any damaged parts or equipment with them following replacement.
The customer is responsible for ensuring the bike and equipment it is adequately secured during the period of hire. The customer will be responsible for the full replacement cost of the bicycle, at current market price, if it is lost or stolen during the period of hire.
LIABILITY IN CASE OF ACCIDENT
OQ Service Course does not provide any cover nor cannot accept any liability for potential liability to third parties (i.e. damage caused to others or their property). It is recommended that you take out insurance to cover such liability or ensure that your holiday insurance covers this.
